It looks pretty cool? Is it a comedy or a suspense thriller? Does the whole course of the movie take place around that poker table? I don't know if it's my monitor, but the lighting looks a little off, but good special affects on that trailor.

I'd watch it.

It's definitely a comedy.

It's definitely a comedy.

Freeze Out is most definitely a comedy in the flavor of "The Office" or "Curb Your Enthusiasm"

MJ-

A friend invited me to the Sunday night screening of "Freeze Out" at the Westwood International Film Festival....Wow!
Funny! Eddie Pepitone had the theatre in a roar- nice

Did you guys treat the footage in post (the colors really seemed to pop more so than other DVX footage I've seen)...? Also, I'm wondering what kind of lense adapter you used to get the
16:9?
Congrats!
Are you going to be screening "Freeze Out" again in Los Angeles? If so then let me know, I've got some friends and co-workers who want to see it.

Cheers,

Michael

Another screening!

Another screening!

Funny you should ask about another screening. Freeze Out has been granted an ENCORE performance at the WIFF!!!: Wednesday Oct. 12th 9:30 PM at the Majestic Crest Theater 1262 Westwood Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90024. PLEASE COME ONE AND ALL! The audience response was overwhelming to my little comedy.

As for the footage: very little was or has been done to affect the color. I've made very few color corrections so far. We were in such a rush to get a copy ready for the festival I was only able to make minor tweaks to some really objectionable color. I shot in very low light for most of the film and perhaps that helped the saturation? I may actually subtract some of the chroma saturation overall when I do the final color correction.

We ran video directly to a 16:9 monitor on set so I could judge color and composition in real time and check playback.

The 16:9 was shot optically with the century optics adaptor and the video was unsqueezed by the projector at The Crest theater. BY THE WAY THE DIGITAL PROJECTION AT THE CREST IS PHENOMENAL!!! The video we premiered with wasn't actually the digibeta 16:9 PAL I spent weeks preparing but actually a ntsc DVD conversion I made in iDVD from my onlined PAL quicktimes (I'd brought the DVD as a back up which it turned out was a good thing). Although, there was some softness induced from going to NTSC but I thought the video looked pretty exceptional. I hope to remedy the deck configutation with the theater before the screening next week and present from my PAL master.
