Check out the trailer first: http://www.freeze-out.com/trailer.html

From now until February 24 you can download and watch FREEZE OUT from the comfort of your own home computer in a DVD quality download. If you like it please vote for it! Also, you can watch a ton of other films shot with DVX cameras in Cinequest's online festival.

Here's a little How to:

System Requirements: Windows Media 9 or 10 on Windows 98/2000/XP. It doesn't work on a MAC. I had to go to a friends house to watch it myself (sigh). Users should make sure their Windows Media Player is the latest version (9 or 10) and that it has the newest licenses. This is Very Important! Otherwise you won't be able to play the movie.

1. Follow The Link Above
2. Register for Cinequest and log-in
3. After you're logged in click on Watch This Film
4. Download and activate the OMN client (This is what downloads the film).
5. Download FREEZE OUT (This takes a while so it might be a good time to pop in "Mr. Show" and then have a double feature). It took me about an hour on DSL.
6. Hit play once the film has been downloaded!
7. Enjoy!
8. Vote! Your ratings and votes could help FREEZE OUT win a spot in a major film festival! I really hope you like it.

Hey I know that sounds like a lot but it is a good movie and worth the download time.

Not for me. I only have access to dialup so either I get a direct link which I can then download at my sisters house or I don't see the product. Simple as that. Why don't I upgrade to highspeed? Cause it's not available where I live.

(also, I NEVER download a program just to watch some video.)

Yeah, I wouldn't recommend it for dial-up. That would be a bummer. Although, there are a lot of cool short movies in the festival too that you could probably check out.

So you've really NEVER used Bit Torrent, or Lime Wire, or Napster, or Grokster, or Itunes, or Windows Media Player, or Quick Time (add your choice of hundreds of client programs here) to stream or download video or music off the internet? Didn't you have to download a program to do that?

As for the program in question called OMN it's essentially a bit torrent program but all the video and audio programming on it is legal. It's primarily functioning as an online outlet for public TV. Cinequest, which is a reputable film festival going into the 16th year, teamed up with OMN to provide a secure download platform that was faster than their older streaming set up. It IS a Beta program but it IS NOT a cheesy fly by night spyware that's going to peek into the inner sanctum of your hard drive or anything like that. You can learn more about it at www.omn.org it's actually a relatively cool program that will probably spawn better imitations.

By the way Raymond, how's it going with *THH* and CARS ARE FOR SISSIES? I would download a program to watch them or rent them. Or later, if you get them out on DVD I'd rent them. That's how much I like indie films.
