Hello Everyone,

Here is another edit that I did of a competition that Stevens Pass did this year called the Hoedown Throwdown. It was a blast to film— great weather, great skiers, great set-up.

Any constructive criticism is GREATLY appreciated— I am trying to get better, so anything helps. I look forward to hearing your comments.

Cheers,
Ryan

Ryan,

Your piece has some nice flow. But it played back jumpy, even with HD turned Off. Maybe re-compress it for Vimeo?

Since you asked for feedback, I'd say you could add contrast and some color saturation to make the image "pop". The slopes look kinda gray. Also, the cross-fades seem long and they don't work well for web video.

Great angles and follow cam stuff!! You have a steady hand for sure. It's tough with a big cam and you are smooth on it.

Keep going with this and you'll Rock so hard you'll bleed Cement.

Thanks a ton for the advice. I need to find a good scene file for snow, I am well aware of that. I always shoot in 720 30pn for the space saving and a bit of the strobing associated with 24p and faster pans/action shots, while still being able to achieve somewhat of a film look.

Do you/does anyone have any advice on what settings to use while on snow (scene files, and etc.)?

Cheers again,
Ryan
