I posted this before but I think it got buried....If you are in LA, you can tryout the JVC LS 300 S35 4K camera for 1 day here at EVS for free (w/deposit). We have both the Metabones EF & PL adapters available to go with the cameras. As most of you know, the weekend counts as one day, so you could pick it up on Friday and bring it back on Monday!....no excuse to give this camera a fair shot in seeing what it can do. Just give us a ring and ask for the rental department.

So, basically, whether the camera is actually a dog, it is perceived as such by its intended customers.

It's too bad there's very little competition in that market segment as of now. The retailers got to sell what they have in stock and if demand needs to be created ...

We're 5 for 5 on our try to buy program...5 tried and after they returned them, they bought 'um!......so, calling this a "perceived dog" is only for those who seem to be all over this camera (negatively) on this blog...who haven't had the camera in their hands, shot with it, edited the footage, etc. If you think I'm being harsh, maybe I am but to dis this camera on a repetitive basis (by the same posters) seems to be excessive and uncalled for. The idea of repetitive posts spouting the same harsh opinion does a dis-service to one's fellow posters.....once you've made your point, move on...please.
As for those who think I've pushed too hard on this camera, understand that we (EVS) sell, along with JVC, Canon, Panasonic, Sony, Blackmagic, AJA, and even GoPro. We look for the "rock stars" at each price point. With production being hard enough (squeezed budgets) in that you never can do enough pre-production, un-planned problems show up every day. We don't want you to have a camera system that would add to those daily problems. Our goal here is to wade through all the many options out there and find the right tools to make things easier for everyone to successful. We don't get behind products that have issues, we endorse ones that work....and fit our client's needs.

Rant done....(twice in 1 month...i need a drink!)

I have no dog in the fight, as it were. This camera is basically supposed to be a (barely) rebadged AF-200. Those who were looking for it will decide one way or another.

I can post a clip, if I find a useful one ... and I have .. again ...

and again -

Thanks for the re-post......the 2nd one looks nice and rich.....and the dog did a great job!

I also liked a lot of the second one...but the super bright green grass in some of the footage looked almost cartoonish...
