Free Score and Soundtracks

Hi, everyone.

I've been learning more about music composition and sound for film, and decided that the best way to practice is on a real project. I have been composing on and off for over 5 years now, including a few scores and soundtracks for student projects during the past few years.

I would like to offer my services in composing music for you, guys. For free, of course. It would be great to try to exercise myself on projects of different sorts and genres, though if a lot of requests are posted (I hope there will be one, at least :)), I can't promise to help each and everyone out. I have a temporary job to keep my audio needs alive too, you know :).

  • Portfolio - a collection of soundtracks, complete tracks, and short demos I have found to be worth posting.
  • Caged (QuickTime | Windows Media) - the latest project I have worked on. So far, this is my best score, and I'm usually pretty harsh about my own work. I wasn't the director or writer on this one, and my job was all of the post-production.

For the curious - I use Cubase. The instruments I use for inspiration, new ideas, and just mindless slamming, are guitar (acoustic Japanese from 1969 and Fender Mustang reissue), piano (CME UF6), and, hopefully soon enough, drums (poor neighbours).

All in all, music is not [yet] a full time job, but I do strive for perfection :).

I can be reached at:

Hope to get some responses (or at least, expressions of pity).

P.S. Sorry for a somewhat cliched thread title. I went for the good old "Free Hat" trick.

P.S.S. I am now running a small Compaq linux server, so the website is finally available 24/7. I have also installed other services on it, like SSH and FTP, so it's possible to make remote collaboration easier - I can work on tracks, upload them onto the FTP server, and, conversely, others can upload files for me to work on to the server .

Well hey!...Thanks for the offer, I may well get in touch with you soon. I can't believe this thread almost went off the map with no replies. I guess nobody is in production or evryone has lots of music. I am in Van too. Pm me if you're interested in discussing a new concept I'm working on.

Cheers

Awesome, I've been looking for composers for certain projects, I will definitely inquire later when things start hitting the editing stages!

Awesome! :)

A question to everyone - are there particular tunes that you liked among those I've posted?

My personal favourite so far has been the small funky demo I was working on recently, since I am into the funky breaks/big beat type of thing myself.

Yeah, this is a really old thread, but I'd like to publicly thank Dmitry for turning out such an AWESOME score for my movie. I feel privileged to have been able to collaborate with him on the project and hope to do so again in the future. I'm always amazed how powerful a resource DVXuser.com is! (For those who havent seen it, Dmitry created the score for Flip, which is available here in the DVXuser store)
