does that mean we can get S-Log on something like a Ki Pro Mini (as versus to a Gemini or Cinedeck)??? Or will S-Log still require Dual Link SDI even if its 4:2:2?
 
You can run slog out of the standard sdi cable. But you won't get a Lut. You will only see slog.

When I saw that Twitter post from Peter Crithary, I was hoping that this was going to be part of the free update but the statement is a bit vague on that point.. that is, if it will be part of the free update. I hope it is and think it would be a clever way for Sony Marketing to further differentiate it from the FS-100.

It is going to be 10 bit 4:2:2 so it doesn't require two HD-SDI ports to send the data. A single channel is sufficient.

I too having been hoping that SLog 4:2:2 would be available on the free update, and and very pleased that all the SDI outputs will now be enabled.
A nice feature would be if you could make one SDI available with LUT and one without. Perhaps monitor out could have the LUT. Then you could switch between LUT and SLOG on a 2 input monitor.
