Framey action sequence..

hey ..anybody know what settings i would use to get that framey flickering look they use many times on action scenes? I have seen that look many times on hvx videos posted here, also is it possible to get that look using miniDV mode?

Its only possible in P2 mode i believe and i think theres 2 ways to do it.

1. Is to go into 22frames per second, only in 720pn mode , and it will speed the action up just a tiny bit for a fight sequence or what not.

2. the other way i think that might be the one you want, is to turn the shutter speed down from around (i forget exactly, but experiment) 90-120. It will give it a strobe effect and keep the same frame rate, not speeding up the footage, like 22 frames per second listed above would. The higher the shutter speed , the smoother the motion, the lower, the strobier it will be. So you can experiment with that to acheive the Saving Private Ryan look.

If you speed up the shutter (meaning shorter exposure time) there will be more "strobing" because you're decreasing motion blur. I've seen other threads here where they recommend a shutter speed of anywhere from 1/250 to 1/500 to similate a Saving Private Ryan Look.
