I've done a bit of code in the past, and was wondering if it would be possbile to write a patch to enable frame rate ramping, or is this a hardware limitation of the HVX?
Also, Can SD card data be accessed over the HVX USB port?
Well I wanted to do the same. My attempt was switching between scene files with different frame rates while recording, didn't work.
However, I found it very effectcive to quickly switch between stop and start. Just a couple of seconds after a little bit of practice. I used it during a concert, 24 and 60fps. With a quick iris adjust, WOW! Fantastic slomo. I was able to choose when I wanted to get something at 60 and get what I needed at 24.
I guess were still ramping in post. Which, I must say, I prefer for the acurate control and timing.
Hmm, I guess anything is possible.. But the best way to aceess your SD card is through a CARD READER on your PC/MAC.. Be careful, remember "you dont know what your doing" and its a $6000 camera you can mess up..
I'd just ramp in post..
But you should check out the 2FPS posts, that is a great one! It enables you to get "any" framerates from 2-60 by reporgramming one of the scenefiles on the the SD Card..
I'm not worried about changing frame rates in the code. I would like to write a patch as a user function that would ramp frame rates during a take. However, I don't know if this is really a hardware constraint.
