frame rate conversion Trick? -record to MiniDV then reupload to different fps project

If i uploaded footage as 23.97fps timeline... and then edit there, and once complete I record it back onto MiniDV, and then reupload that finished project from my miniDV back to a 29.97fps timeline, will that do a clean frame rate conversion into a 29.97fps project? Or will there be any side-effects with the speed?
