Frame grabs from today's shoot

Chuck,

Thanks! No problem with peeping now, that was only with the low quality jpegs. We shoot almost everything at Detail zero and have had fantastic results. We did run neat video to clean up a little bit of noise in the darks (due to pushing a little too hard in post for more light), but from what I have seen that plugin has little to no effect on the overall sharpness of the scene.

Looks great- I've been meaning to try Neat!

The Curse of The Pixel Peeper be upon thee... it will go alongside the dreaded 2X curse you already carry!:cheesy:

Noooo... not another curse!!!!!

Only that it's such a shame to have video compression artefacts all over the place, when it is clearly lit and shot so nicely. That's web-release for you though, I guess.

Lucas,

Agreed...but SD cable broadcast isn't any better, which unfortunately is where 90% of this project ended up going. Thanks for your input!

IMO it's much easier to make a transparent PNG with the bars already on it and put it on top of your footage. That way you can easily adjust the shots up and down to fit the proper framing you want if there's anything you want to change.

Looks great btw, top notch.

We did that for years when almost all TVs were 4:3 to give the llusion of letterbox on full screen DVDs; used the black bars to correct framing. It's nice to know we're not the only ones to do this. Shhh industry secret :-)
