I like to consider the fs7 the do everything very well camera. It's why I bought it because it satisfies so many levels of production and is what I consider the first camera to do so. I've shot with basically every system on the market. I can take it on a narrative shoot one day with a full crew and up into the mountains one man band style on the most inhospitable conditions shoot the next day, and everything in between. There isn't another camera on the market that can be as much of a chameleon. Lightweight. Low power draw and small, lightweight batteries. Built in ND's. 10 bit 4:2:2. 4k. High frame rates. Big dynamic range. Great color and skin tones. And I absolutely love that I can use a regular adaptor for super35 or a speedbooster for full frame. That is a huge advantage.
Here's some heavily compressed jpg frame grabs from a narrative project that I shot in the fall. Slog3. Sgamut3.cine
Here's a trailer shot on the fs7. First trip which I wasn't on was slog3 but the other shooter struggled with viewing everything so flat in flat light so we switched to hyper gamma 8 for the rest of the project. A little more contrast for viewing but still very flat for grading.
Here's the link if prefer to view it out of the forums. https://vimeo.com/135486842
Here's a pic of the general rig for any type of city shoot. I firmly believe less is more with all rigs. Shape lightweight plate. Couple rods. Extra rosette handle. I wear a shoulder pad. Tripod to shoulder instantly. Done. For any shoot where I don't need a matte box I strip everything away.
More to come at later dates as I've shot lots of stuff over the past year on the camera but very little of it is finished.
