Fr-2LE firmware Version 1.30

Hi, i bought the Fr-2le in december 2009. When it comes i check the firmware version and is the V1.30. It Comes with "Enhancing the ALC (Auto Level Control) function" (That means with the option of ALC; off, on, limit, Off+12dband Lim+12db) and the option of using the Remote control buttons as Stop Play Rec\Stby.

I search any further firmware upgrade but i dont even find the version v1.30(release in April 2009).

Any information about that? And i bought the MDR 7506, I tested with the fostex and i dont her any hiss or distortion reported in various post.

Possibly they made minor hardware tweaks that needed new firmware but was unnecessary for the older ones?
 
John I'm just surprise as you, i don't understand. Any DVXs user bought the FR-2LE after december 2009?
Maybe is like Gohanto says; but why? Fostex is keeping this product in the production line? If there is an unknown version like 1.30 data April 2009 i'm sure that another further version is out there.
Tomorrow I'll upload photos from the manual supplementary (Is one page) and the screen in the Fostex.

I would suggest asking Fostex to clarify.

Unfortunately my UK expert contact moved to "The Source" and no longer works there.
 
Can someone post the upgrade? or provide actual e-mail address contact instead of a link?
+12 gain on the pres would be good, as they only have about 40 dB gain. I'm interested in trying this.

But I don't know where you saw the FR2LE has only 40db gain. The specs says 50db and it was measured here to 48db

-50dBu to -10dBu on mic input.
I think the link you sent includes the extra gain from the master.
Correct if I'm wrong.
I emailed for the Version Up 1.30 and got a quick response from Matt Livingstone NZ. Fostex USA is gone.... and seems nothing has changed on the international site.. too bad.
Haven't installed yet, but interested if this will add any distortion.

You misinterpreted the specs. the mic input can use mics with output from -50dbu to -10dbu. So -50dbu in the input can give 0 dbfs and 0 dbu on the output. So the gain is 50db.

I hope this will add only gain and not too much distortion....
And yes you will have, with this new V1.30, new choices in the ALC menu to add 12 db of gain with or without the limiter. See the pdf document in my previous post.
Another improvement I saw is that the battery jauge seems to be better managed.
