Hmm, seems like a little more of a "wish list" than a "top 10 gadgets" list.
I mean, where are C-47s? Aluminum foil & grease-proof paper? Worklights? Skateboard dollys, the 35mm adapter. 24p video. dvxuser.com...

Yep, you're probably right. Actually I do have the dollies and the lights though and an HV20 and Beachtek on the way.

That was an error in the coding. It's fixed now. Keep in mind guys this was a list of "gadgets" and as stated more of a wishlist. It wasn't particularly supposed to be practical. As a matter of fact it was mainly aimed at the Digg audience and tech fan boys like myself who love all that stuff.
As for the film itself we almost had an international sale to the Eastern European market, which I was fine with because I could still keep all the other rights. But the lack of DOF and the fact it was shot on DV versus HDV killed it since there was no naked chicks or buckets of blood. He said the DV stuff isn't selling like the HD/HDV stuff. The buyers are getting the same thing anyway but higher quality. They want to see our next stuff. The guy loved the martial arts which is big overseas.
York wanted this too (as always they love to get a free film) and got pissed when I didn't give it to them. We've sold about 150 or more of these between DV sales and downloads. Fact is HD is in. We're upgrading to an HV20 + a 35 adapter and have all four 500 watt lights including a work light. My old dolly broke so I'll need a new dolly too.

I prefer to stay away from gratuitous blood and nudity. I don't mind either but I don't do it just for sales. I'm not huge on tons of blood either unless there's a purpose for it like in a Zombie or vampire flick or something. But this shows it can sale, I just have to up my game for the markets and stick to decisions like not letting sham distributors get films for free. I was shaky on that at first thinking at least I'd get exposure. Then I thought about it and said no. I can't wait for the HV20. I love the fact it's so small and takes such a great picture. Next I'm aiming for a XL-h1 or A1. The XL-H1 has plummeted in price. I think the next thing will be like a Michael Douglas type thriller - with martial arts of course. LOL. And it's far from over with "Wages", we're still promoting that.

The StickyPod? You would need that for certain shots if you don't have a huge crew. The green screen you'd need for effect shots. You would use 8 you'd use as a deck for the Canon H1 or A1. And 10 you would use to edit. I didn't mention the HVX200 because I'm not in the market for an HVX200. I've seen it in action and I'm not impressed as I was with the Canon. The HVX200 cost more overall but the A1 can work within my frameworks so I really don't have to upgrade anything.

By the way I am writing a Zombie project. I know there will be a lot of blood and gore. I just figured you'd get a kick out of knowing that's coming. Only one partial nude scene though and it's from behind. Sorry. LOL.
