four questions regarding the hacks (should be FAQ)

Though I have a certain expertise, I must say that these hacks are testing my ability to comprehend the rather contradictory information presented. I have read all the FAQs and hundreds of posts but still some rather basic questions remain unanswered.

To set the scene... I want fluid motion at the highest bitrates and so will be shooting at 720p50. Some shots I will use for slow motion, others not. I expect to set my project master to 720p25. (I live in a PAL world.) So I have been testing the "75Mbps GH1 Peak Performance Patch" and "75Mbps GH1 Peak Reliability Patch - V2 update". FWIW I am using SanDisk 32GB Extreme 45MB/s Class 10 cards on the Panasonic GH1.

OK, now four questions.

1. How do I know what patch is installed? The camera shows firmware 0.0 which is a hint that I am not running stock firmware. But is there a way to get it to display something that corresponds with the firmware file name I created? That would make reporting easier.

2. I set up a test shot of grasses in the wind, thinking this would be fairly high stress. On inspection MediaInfo reports the video stream is 25.0 Mbps. In VLC the content bitrate fluctuates up to 30,000 kb/s. I am not sure how to reconcile these values with the stated 75Mbps.

3. I cannot play the file back in camera, which is expected. What is the best patch for 720p50 shooting that DOES allow me to view in camera? I will use this for rehearsals so I can share with the talent. (A shame the GH1 does not have HDMI out while recording.)

4. The hack descriptions state that one can switch between PAL and NTSC modes. How do I do this?

Thanks in advance for any help!

4. Press MENU, choose "Setup", then find the "Video Out" setting. Change this to PAL or NTSC as desired. Power off and on. Reformat the SD card.
