I got a DC -R302 about 6 month ago here in Canada, I was the first one in North America to have one according to the Japanese Sales Mgr.
I was off to a bit of a ruff start cause there was only a quick start guide in the box, so most of the user instructions came from Q & A emails with the Japanese sales Mgr.
That said, he was prompt and very helpful, so with a few firmware updates I was using the device in short order.
So far I've used it on a variety of projects, Short Films, Docs, TV shows, Music videos, and also as a 2track recorder when I do live sound with bands, I tell them to bring a laptop and they copy the 2track board mix from the SD card and are amazed with the sound and the ease of the file transfer.
It works and sounds great, the mic pres sound excellent, it is so small and compact it can actually fit in your coat pocket.
Overall myself and my clients are very pleased with the Foxtex DC-R302.
The only hang up is that as of last week, it has been sent to the Canadian Foxtex distributor for a hardware upgrade to enable it to do USB funtions.
With the USB it will work as a A to D, D to A converter for i.e iPad etc.
