This is a catch and release. I bought this recorder which works great for one man operations. But I decided to go back to the setup I had with the Sound Devices MixPre-D. Although the Fostex limiters work well, I need something that's near bulletproof like the SD which allows me to split my attention during loud events with unpredictable levels. Sound Devices limiters are second to none, though you pay for it. At half the price, the Fostex pre's are better than most any other recorder and mixer that I've tried. Plus, this is the only small mixer that records. It's a 3+2 mixer and recorder so it has 3 XLR inputs and outputs a stereo track. It's great for DSLR sound since it has a 1/8" stereo mic level output and a line level stereo output. If you have a 5D or several other compatible cameras, you can do auto start which turns on both recorder and camera at the same time. The 302 also has high pass filters and limiters built in, phantom power, return monitoring from the camera, USB interface with your computer, slate tone and high resolution 48Khz and 96Khz 24-bit recording ability. All in a durable metal case that can be mounted above or below. Comes with a bracket to mount it under your camera. In good shape with no scratches on the LCD. A couple of minor cosmetic scratches on the case. Asking $450 shipped. Sold.
