I just sold my camera so I don't need the Matte Box anymore, it's in almost mint condition. I paid $300 for it originally and I'm also including the 72mm ring adapter which cost $35.00, selling for $175

According to the specs as listed on B&H the weight is:

1.8 lbs
973 grams


Regarding the GH1, unfortunately I don't know that camera, but according to the specs it's just a matter of whether or not the GH1 can accept a screw in adapter to hold the Matte Box:

Lens Fit and Mount: 43mm to 82mm Screw Type
*You can probably find more info here on DVXUSER by doing a search of FM-500, that's how I decided to buy it originally after doing a lot of reading here, someone might also have mentioned using it with the GH1.
 
It works with any camera as long as you can screw in the adapter ring, the one I have is for a 72mm thread, but they also make adapter rings from 43mm - 82mm
