formatt 500 matte box experience?

Re: formatt 500 matte box experience?

I have the 500 and love it...especially for the price. I think it's well made, but alas it doesn't work with the anomorphic and I can't use it with my wide angle either, but for standard stuff it's great.

I also bought a Hoya UV scew on filter and that allows both stages to clear the onboard microphone.

Sorry man, but it can't be possible. Are you sure you are not getting any vignetting at all, even when you check the captured footage in your Computer (full frame)?

Where would the vignetting come from? I mean the box is just a box right? The glass/resin filters that you put in the box would be what they are (in quality) and that seems like the only variable right? How could the box itself cause distortion/vignetting?

have you experience with the Formatt? How about these others recommended? What is the basis for recommending the others over the Formatt?

Just need to know - thanks for your help

Oh maybe you mean for use with the anamorphic - now I'm reading.

Re: formatt 500 matte box experience?

I have the F500 matte box. So far I don't really have a big problem with it. I just use it for looks. I also have a chrosziel matte box too. I don't think a matte box will make your movie amazing.. It's all base on talent and skills... and a good script. :)
