well depends, if you're buying this prevention from the rasta's at central park then i'm not sure about that 
but in all seriousness, yes haha, unfortunately before I knew about the formatting card option, i was on a video shoot and was sadly disappointed to see i could only shoot 29 minutes on my 8gb card.....definitely format before every shoot.
