format decision-opinions needed

The cable project I'm working on requires a 1080i 59.94 finished master for broadcast.

Given that requirement, what format would you choose to shoot in? 1080i, 1080p...720p?

I would shoot in whatever format they want natively so that you don't have to convert to another format. You could shoot in 1080p and convert it if you want to, if you have a reason to, but I think your best bet is to shoot in the format that they want.
 
Hey Film842, what media do they want you to deliver the master in? Are you going to deliver the commpleted project on a hard drive HDCam tape or some other means?
 
At this point they want it on tape (HDcam or whatever), but at project completion it might well be hard drive.
 
Agree with kit, if you originate in the required format then youll hand over the cleanest image.

Yep, that seems to be the consensus.

So how are things on the beautiful gold coast? I have family in Toowoomba and also up in Maroochydore (probably spelled that wrong) Love your part of world. I've never seen clouds like those over the coast. Hope to get back there soon.
 
Ah cool, be sure to drop me a line before you come. My mother lives up in Noosa pretty close to Maroochydore.
