Format and safe eject 7Q question

I have four CD SSD cards and the night before every shoot I format each SSD because I'm too afraid to format any cards on shoot day to avoid confusion and possible data loss.

After formatting the card, should I do "Safe Eject" before I remove the data-free SSD? Or should I just pull the SSD out WITHOUT doing Safe Eject? My aim is to prep the cards to be used the next day.

I've done it both ways now and either seems to be fine, but I was wondering if there's a more "correct" way to do it.

During recording, the Odyssey7/7Q does not set up directory information, so computers cannot read out files on your SSDs. It has a different way to organize its file structure, that has a better performance during continous recording. The directory information is added when the safe eject is applied. So it is very important to process that before removal and ingesting files to your post production system.

I guess, a safe eject will not hurt the internal organization and could be performed multiple times, without adding recordings. So I would vote for safe eject any time you swap SSDs.
