i have a GH1 and would like to upgrade to GH2 for the HDMI monitoring (and hopefully the ACG disable)

I have the 14-144 lens and thinking i could use it on my GH2. Is that what you're thinking of doing?

also, how did you determine that your GH1 was hackable? Have you considered hacking it before selling (apparently someone got $1,600 for a hacked GH1 recently on this site I think it was)

ciao, Martin
