for sale GH1 with the hack?

why not just buy the cam and do the hack yourself or if you are too scared pay someone to do it... most people with hacked cameras are too busy shooting and loving the cam to be selling them.

I haven't heard anyone hack their cam yet and go, "ohhh mya goda... this new super cleara footage..! it'sa terrible!!!! I must sella thisa GH1 and go back to mush!"

(Why they would be Italian I don't know but that's how I imagined it)
 
What virsion and where i can buy please some people are telling me that there is a camera can't be hack I am kind of new with DSLR i am from different world. thank you.

Holy schnikies! Even space aliens are wanting these cameras! (j/k man...)

There are new ones that can't be hacked, but nobody can guarantee that you won't get an unhackabe or hackable unit. You just have to take a chance and return one that doesn't work.
 
If panasonic really has locked (in the long term) the ability to hack any future gh1's I could see a market for the "Hacked/Hackable" cameras popping up on ebay...

Having said that, no way am I selling this baby!
 
I really wanted a red or gold GH1 when I bought mine at B&H but none existed.... I have never seen anyone with a red or gold one but bloom.

Anyway... I am going to start a hacking service for people who want their camera hacked in NYC.I have done the hack successfully with no problems on about 10 units, all bought from B&H, and I have not run into this mysterious non hackable GH1. I heard B&H was going to start charging $150 more for pre hacked ones sold hacked but that's probably just a rumor but one of the sales guy was telling me people come in there all the time asking to buy the new hacked one, but I guess it's a legal issue... since it ruins the warrantee then b&h would have to fix the cam if it didn't work?
 
The hack is sort of a subjective thing. Some people prefer to play it safe with their hack, don't check 24pN keep the bitrate settings lower, some people don't and try and max out their camera... If someone else uses ptool for you because you don't want to learn how to or are not confident that you can, you will be getting what you get in a way... What if you find that you want to try new ptool settings? Will you have to send the camera back to the person who hacked it for you at an additional fee? It just seems to me that someone said it best, using ptool to apply new hacked firmware to your camera is kind of like the old maya ad campaign: If you don't know why you need maya (the hack), you don't need maya (the hack).
 
I agree in a way HD, but I can't tell you the number of requests I get from non tech people who just want the hack done so they can shoot 24p N at double the bitrate, import into their favorite editing app and go. They would rather pay someone else to do it and just be on with their shooting.

If people can't or won't do something, they pay for the service of someone else to. I have to say the hack settings the way I do them are 99% stable. I just shot a 2 hour play in 24p... no issues.. no transcoding.. no BS... just beautiful images.
 
I'd sell my hacked body only for no less than $1000 so I can turn around and buy two more body onlys and hack 'em! :evil:
 
I am waiting for a hacked GH2. Nothing else will cause me to upgrade. Well, unless they release a GF2 instead of a GH2.
 
where are you guys buying the hackable bodies? are you buying the body only or with kit lens? i'm hoping to buy one from B&H and ship it to my in-laws place so I can pick it up when I visit from Canada in a couple of weeks but don't wanna get stuck with a newer gen. do you think B&H would confirm the s/n over the phone with me prior to ordering?
