I bought this camera a little over a year and a half ago with high hopes of becoming a filmmaker. Ironically enough, it was reading this forum all the time that pushed me over the edge. Unfortunately I never really got into making any movies, but thanks to the magic of the internet and credit cards managed to purchase myself a whole bunch of equipment that I didn’t use. Now I’m far to busy to even hope of giving this hobby the time it needs, so I’m selling off my whole kit because at this point I don’t think I’ll ever use it.
Here are the details (today's retail prices in parens, about what I paid, or a little less)
-DVX-100A. It’s only ever been used in basically ‘practice’ mode. The counter has 13 hours on it. The camera is in mint condition. There are no scratches, minor or otherwise on the body, lens or any other part of the camera. In fact, the lens has been covered with a UV filter since I bought it, except for when I had the wide angle lens on it. In addition the camera has lived all of its life safely stored in a Pelican 1600 case that I lovingly punched the foam out of to perfectly fit around the camera and its accessories. ($3300)
-Century Optics .6x Wide Angle Adapter. Again, it’s only ever been used for an hour or two, and had only been put on / taken off the camera a total of like 10 times. There are no scratches on the lens, body or covers. Totally Mint. ($350)
-Cinetactics Mattebox mb100m. The matte box comes with the regular shade, and the oversized French flag. Again, only put on once or twice. ($180)
-3 3500mah extra batteries purchased from dvxuser.com. They’ve been used 1-5 times each at most. ($30-50)
-Manfrotto 3001BPRO Tripod with Manfrotto 503 fluid head. Works beautifully, and (sensing a pattern here) used like 3-4 times and never outside. The feet are almost untouched. Tripod feet, almost scratch-free! $124 (legs) + $260 (head)
-Pelican 1600 case. This is a bombproof yellow case I bought to protect the camera. Inside the case, there is this foam stuff that you can tear off squares of to custom fit whatever you happen to be storing. Already I have a space for the DVX-100a, 3 batteries, the wide angle lens, the charger, and two tape boxes. There is about 10”x7” space left in the upper left corner for more stuff. Case is slightly scuffed around the edges, but it’s a case, and that’s its job. ($130)
-7 AY-DVM63MQ tapes. The camera has only been fed this brand, and you can have the remaining 7 tapes, all shrink-wrapped in cellophane. ($20-30)
Altogether, this setup would cost me $4400 today, but since it’s used and all, I’m willing to sell it all together for $3600. Shipping would be extra, whatever it turned out to be, and I’ll ship it any way you want. Shipping would be from area code 10003, or if you happen to live in NYC, I could probably arrange to meet you. I have a paypal account, so if you want to do it that way, we can, or if you have another way you’d like to handle payment, I would probably be okay with that as well. Additionally I might be willing to sell things off separately, so if you don’t need or want the whole thing, please feel free to email me an offer for any of the pieces and I’ll consider it.
If you have any questions, or want additional pictures etc, feel free to email or call me, tmohrman@gmail.com or 646.853.3730. Email is better during the day since I don’t pick up my phone while at work 7AM – 7PM EST, but all email will get forwarded to my crackberry, so you can expect a pretty fast response.
Thank you all.
Travis
