ITEM HAS BEEN SOLD - thanks for looking.
Bogen fluid tripod head. the heavy duty type for large film / tv cameras. With a 75mm ball mount head that can be removed for a flat profile mount with one bolt.
$50 PM me. located in Bay Area CA, will ship if buyer prepays for shipping and cost of unit.
Bogen Heavy Duty Video head Unit Model 116
with ball head. The Manfrotto 116MK3 video head is the same as the US (Bogen) 3066
The 116 is designed for use with cameras weighing up to 35 lbs. It incorporates variable balance adjustment and a fixed drag system which allows for finger tip control at all times.
Unfortunately, this did not come with any arm or tripod plate, but they can be purchased from manfrotto.com or found on ebay. One handle side mount has been mostly sheared off from use, so the mount wouldn't grip as well as it normally would. You could just extra tighten on an arm or use the other side (other mount) which is still in great shape.
116 Specifications
secondary safety lock
leveling bubble
Pan: 360
Tilt: +70 -70
Independent Pan Lock
Independent Tilt Lock
Maximum Load Capacity: 35.3 lbs.
Head Height: 5.2 inches.

here's some random testimonials I googled about this just now...

It's a very heavy-duty head and I actually like its weight, movement and good controls. But it's a honker and really too large for, say, a GL2. Weighing-in at nearly 8 lbs it's designed for a substantial set of legs. Jim, you should note that it normally fits to a geared center column, although it can be adapted to a 100mm ball.
So I ended up buying the '116' or 3066 head. I got it used with a set of 3061 legs.
The things a tank. Certainly all I need for an xl-1. I wanted sturdy legs to support a homemade jib.
I ended up paying about $180 (US) including shipping. I got it off e-bay (I know many of you hate it, but this was a damn good deal).
I'm more than happy with it. I got better legs and a better head than I expected for about half of what I expected to pay. I'd keep my eyes open for bogen products labeled with the non-american system. Perhaps better deals can be found like this.

Just an update. I'm not saying it's a pretty tripod head or that's it's in blemish free shape. There is that right handle tie in that's worn down all the way to bare metal, from wear and people grinding the teeth swinging the arm up and down. Left tie is also ground down although the teeth are still there and an arm could lock into it. The pan and tilt adjustments work, and there's pretty robust resistance so it's not going to whip around a 1 lb camera quick, better for the 5+ to 10 lb cameras I'd take a guess. Also, notice the 'kludge' that someone inserted to lock in the release for the missing tripod plate. It's a bolt and nut, and would seem to work, but is unorthodox / non spec. Also, there is a back bubble level which seems bone dry and therefore does not display level info in current condition.
I can now take PayPal through a friend's site. PM me for specific instructions. You can 'donate' the amount plus shipping to her film (I worked on it), and then I'll consider it paid in full and ship the unit out. Can be picked up locally in SF area or Boston possible as well. Thanks, RJ
