GH2 hack is still "in progress". For us who live in PAL-istan and need something better than plain vanilla 17Mbit IpppppIpppp 720p50 and need it now, here is a patch I worked out by experimenting with different switches:

Works with Class 4 card: yes (tested on Sundisk 8GB, Class 4)
Works in M,S,A,P-mode: yes
It is tested with "Pappasarts chart of death", filmed directly off the screen. If GH2 behaves similar to GH1, this is about the hardest it gets. I tried to keep amount of adjusted parameters to minimum and just enable stuff that I felt is needed:
- 30 min limit delete
- 720p50 with B-frames and reasonably good bitrate, without risking playback of buffer overflow on older cards.
Drawback: you need to record at least a second of 1080p24 video after each power-cycle in order for this to work.
While bitrate isn't stratospheric in any way, it works and is stable (as far as I could test). And 34Mbit is roughly double the bitrate of stock 720p50, plus additional advantage of codec using B-frames. For me, it's a lot. I will experiment with other options in order to find out how to circumvent need to record 24p first.
