For Early US S-Log Updaters...

Just got official word from my Sony contact that those US users who sent their cameras to Teaneck or LA for the S-Log update will receive a 32gb SxS-1 card just as those who will now be purchasing the $899 package.

Those who are waiting for the $899 upgrade package should know that shipments will begin in about a week.

There is still no firm shipment date on the revised F3/RGB units. But check with your dealer to see if there is any kind of bundling of existing inventory and S-Log card (this is not from Sony but from another source which, like any good journalist, I won't reveal).

Well that's right nice of the guys at Sony. Must admit I nearly fell off my chair!
How does one arrange for this card, I had my camera done in LA a few weeks ago?

Scant help for those who spent $3750 though.

Yeah, I was about to be disappointed by the SxS card getting overlooked- but looks like they've got it covered.

To add to my speculative point, Abel is discounting F3's in stock by $899, meaning if you buy the F3+S-Log, you are at the same price point for the F3-RGB.

Is there an ETA on getting these cards? I brought my F3 into Teaneck about a month ago, but haven't received notice of a card being shipped...

I had my F3 upgraded at Teaneck in February as well. Called them today to inquire about the SxS card that is supposedly supposed to be sent to me. The agent I spoke with was unsure about the process but took my info and receipt # from when I had s-log installed. He was extremely nice and helpful and said he would look in to it with the proper people there. Called me back a hour later and said they were shipping out a 32gb card to me on Monday.

So as far as "No need for you to do anything" for them to send it out I'm not so sure about that. Either way the good intention is definitely there on Sony's part and as the agent told me, the whole S-Log offer has been a continually changing policy and their doing their best just trying to keep up with the whole thing. Between installing S-Log while I waited and now sending out a card, I have nothing but great things to say about the Teaneck Service Center.

Much thanks to Ned for letting us all know about the card offer!

Now.. If Atomos would send me the mini SDI cables to replace the two defective ones that came with my Samurai and the dummy d-tap battery that their supposed to send to Samurai customers I'd be stoked. No matter on the cables, ordered some new one's from http://markertek.com/

Thanks for that little bit of feedback about getting our 32gb card. I'll shoot that over to my Sony contacts but at this point with NAB a week away, NAB is the only thing on their minds. Wondering if anyone else has actually received the card without asking. And yes, Teaneck service is the best. Another reason I enjoy living in Teaneck!

Yes. Peter says they are working on something. But he tweeted this a week or so ago so it isn't like I'm delivering breaking news.

Well, I was beginning to despair (having brought my camera to Teaneck in early February), but UPS just came and imagine my surprise when I saw this box from Korea...

Hello Ned, this is good news! I know you live close by to the Service Centre there so do you know if Sony will just mail the SxS card to those who took their cameras in earlier or do we have to "nudge" them about it?
I'm out of the country right now, will be for the next few months but still would hate to miss out on this offer if it's for real.
Sorry to have missed meeting up with you on that trip to Teaneck back in February by the way, I was in a hurry to get my F3 upgraded before leaving for France a few days later. Next time hopefully!
Best,
Peter

Peter.. See my post #9. I called them to ask about the card offer since I also brought my F3 in to them in Feb. They checked their paperwork that I had indeed paid them for the S-Log update and then promptly sent the card out a couple days later. As of right now their obviously not automatically sending cards out to everyone that paid for the $899 upgrade. Doesn't seem this is because their trying to get over on people, but more that their slammed over there and the S-Log upgrade program policies changed/shifted and number of times.

Give 'em a ring, Im sure they'll take care of you.

I emailed Peter about the situation with people having to call service center for card. No word sinc h is obviously tied up with nab. I would call if you have not yet received your card
