Footage: swiss music video

Hey there guys,

I recently finished this music video for a swiss hip hop artist, so I thought I'd post it right here... So, enjoy, and lemme know what you think.

BTW: there's gonna be some work done (color correction etc), so remember, it's just the raw footage...

(Right Click, Save As - best option, some 98MB, 2min...)

Cheerioh

oh, just in case you wonder: yes, that is swiss german, funny language, huh? :)

Sisch luschtig, s'Schwiizerdütsch! :)
Aber d'achtenüntzg MB sind mir grad e chli z'vil, duet mer laid. Spöeter, vilicht.

Hehehe...

But this is actually an interesting side-effect of the HVX I noticed: the quality is now so good, that most everyone uploads their clip/movie at a VERY high bandwidth, so they don't loose too much in web-compression. Gone are the days of crappy 1MB/minute online movies! :)

Okay, I couldn't stand it so I DID watch it now: NICE work. Got to love the HVX!
Nice editing and cinematography. I was missing something in the video though, not sure what; maybe a better introduction or a contasting shot (taken maybe outside?). It just had a bit too much of a "sterile" feel, which was probably deliberate. It needed just a bit more "story", something to make it less monotonous and tie it all together. I would of liked just a couple of shots with different color correction, lighting, or scenery. Just some thoughts. It was a good piece.

thanks vidled, yeah, it's true, great power brings great responibility - no, wait, aaaahm... :) no it's true, next time, i'll put up something smaller...

well, the other thing you noticed, this lack of story, I agree to a certain point. One could argue that the video itself is just 1.5min, on the other hand, you can tell a lot in this time. originally, there was some more "story" to the whole thing, but it got kicked out because of some problems with location and the acting capabilities of the family of MC Rony (artist). Also, we shot this piece in a very short period of time, not even 8 hours, and we had a lot of equipment you don't actually see in the video (being a jib, dolly, tons of PAR's, etc...).

AND: I kinda like the very simple look, no effects, just good ol' camera with the actor in front of it...

wow, that was easily the most stupid sounding song/artist i've ever heard, i dont know if i was supposed to laugh at him or what.......anyway

the footage looked good, i love the HVX

Hi vidled, are you kidding or is your Swiss German real? I'm just about to order one of your on camera lights but I'm somewhat unsure which one to choose. In one of your posts you've mentioned an adapter for Pana batteries - is it currently available?

THREAD HIJACK begin:
Aye, it's available for $25. Comes with 1ft coiled cable. I quickly updated the site to show this item now.
s'Schwiizerdütsch isch aecht, aber zimli roschtig!

Now back to your regular scheduled program.....

vidled,
you should name your lights "the swissarmyknife of lighting fixtures" - jetzt verstehe ich auch warum die Dinger nicht kaputt gehen...

Nice vid btw...!
