Hey! These methods have been up for a while, anyone got some de-noised and de-jaggied footage to show?

720 or 1080, doesn't matter. I'm re-exploring the D90 as an option for an upcoming project and wanted to see what everyone else has gotten before I start futzin' around with it.
 
what exactly do you want? night/day, both? i have the de-noiser and stair step. i rarely use the de-noiser cause I set the camera's ISO so there isn't any noise. But I can still do it if you want, just setup a situation where you think you'd need it and I'll do what I can.
 
Any and all. The more the better. Just HIgh Resolution (1080!? YES!) and some skin tones would be awesome.

I liked the footage from beckspace but it didn't show too much. Other than the process to get the clean 1080P produced some very undeniably nice results.

I'll even take some footage without de-noise, but stair-step is what I'm really looking for.
 
Okay, I've never done the 1080 uprez, but I have it installed, just never used it. I'll put something up Sunday. See if I can get a friend of mine to get in front of the camera. Maybe I'll put together a quick scene.
 
alright, got my guinea, so it looks like i'll have "something" for you. I think we're gonna do a commercial with the amount of time we have.
 
Alright, I got around to doing two short clips, but can't use the first one, ran out of day light and turned out bleh. Though, I am going to re-shoot that. But, the second one turned out real good. I'll edit it together, apply the nice stair-step fix and see if I can up-rez it to 1080. I'm still learning how to do that. I won't be using neat video no need to. It was shot using 200 and 300 watt lights. Also used wireless mics so you guys can see some synced sound as well. Bolo either late tonight or tomorrow.
 
Thanks dude. I ran some of my own "tests" and I've come to the conclusion that, regardless of the small form factor of the camera, it's just not worth the hassle on this project. =T

The footage does look nice when de-jagged, but there're too many trade-offs to consider as far as production goes. For me, anyway.

Still, a kick-ass camera to carry around everywhere you go!
 
well i post the footage and people can decide for themselves. to me, it looks just as good as any hvx footage i've seen. the workflow is less than hassle for me. most people are under the assumption the stair-step/de-noiser/upscaler is something you have to do, but it's not, especially the de-noiser and upscaler. i'll only be applying the stair-step and that's it. i don't see a need to upscale to 1080 for web purposes nor do i need to de-noise the footage cause if you use the camera properly, there isn't any noise.
 
impressive, is that the 50mm f/1.4? I haven't managed to get anything that clean yet. Maybe you can answer my post to matt in the fstop thread.

could you let us know what your lighting setup was for that quick shot? I gotta say that was VERY clean footage.
