Footage playing on 2nd Monitor

All of a sudden I sware this happened. This is why I hate computers, lol. I will tell you what I did, I tried to import from a VCR to the mojo but forgot to turn off deck control on the capture window, so I didn't think it was working but anyway when I started to play the vhs tape it would show in the composer and also take up the whole screen of the second monitor, and when it stopped playing it would show black so that means i couldn't see my bins or anything cause they were on my second monitor. I didn't change a single setting to have this happen. I thought it might have been the vcr thing that I setup through line in the back but it wasn't cause i took the tape and converted to minidv with my deck (cause i couldn't figure out how to capture straight from the mojo, found out that i had to turn off deck control later though) and now while im capturing through my minidv deck to the mojo its still showing the video in my second timeline. Its capturing now finally but I have to restart avid to get both monitors to show again.

WHY DID THIS HAPPEN?

Sorry my paragraph is so jumbled, im loosing the ability to type/talk correctly today.

Actually help! I cant evern get my second monitor to show up when avid loads now, it will show up, it shows up when avid isn't running and while avids booting or while selecting a project but once i get into the project it will turn the second monitor black and I cant get to my bin to drag footage to the timeline!!!!!!!!!!!!

HELP ME!

I figured out that if i click the actual PC desktop in the lower 1st monitor then the second monitor pops back up but once I start scrubbing any timelines the video shows full screen in the second monitor again and also showing in the composer window. AHH this is crap!

Just taking a stab in the dark, but what happens if you switch your toolsets? Choose Basic, then Choose Source/Record and see if that clicks things into place. It could also be related to your video card. What kind of card are you using?

Dont remember the video card but I been having the system a year and today was the first time it ever did it. GEFORCE or something video card let me check. But changing the toolset doesn't work.

Video Card : NVIDIA Quadro NVS with AGP8x

Tried rebooting the computer? Maybe something's screwy with the video card settings. Also is the dual monitor configuration messed up outside of Avid? Does the Windows desktop look OK? What about other programs?

All other programs are fine, im running AE 6.5 and photoshop and whatever and they work fine, After I do this video converting ill reboot and try it and see how it goes.

If rebooting doesn't change anything you might try reinstalling Avid. I honestly don't have a clue what happened to your computer. I'm just going through the standard troublshooting checklist. Good luck.

Just found out if I play a video in Windows Media Player as well it does the same thing. Freaky weird huh? Someone know what to do? <restarting now>

If it happens in Media Player then that's an indication that it's not something in Avid that's messed up. I'd keep focusing on the video card. If it's still a problem after rebooting check the settings. See if anything looks out of the ordinary.
