Shooting something Wednesday and need to provide the uncut footage for someone to edit in an older version of FCP. I can bring it into Adobe Premiere Elements 10 or Premiere CS6 on a Windows PC. What's the best workflow and output codec to provide the FCP editor the best quality footage?
I think their FCP version (or Mac) is too old to import AVCHD files and I don't think I can convert to ProRes on a windows machine. What are best import/export settings for this situation? Or is there PC freeware that will do the right conversion? Or Mac freeware to make the ProRes conversion outside of FCP? (This shoot is a freebie for a tiny non-profit. No budget.)
Would welcome any advice! (Not an editor here; have barely ever opened premiere in CS6.)
Thanks in advance.
Mark
