Footage full with Artifacts

Hello everyone,

Last week i have shot a short with the DVX100b, but now i get the message from the director/editor that the footage is full with digital artifacts :(

She have captured the footage with a standard DV camcorder, NOT the DVX100b.
Can the capture device (camcorder) has anything to do with it?

We are very upset, its an important project and very difficult to shoot again...
Any suggestions...?

The camcorder she used to capture may have had dirty heads which caused dropouts when capturing, she could try using a head cleaning tape first or using another camera to capture with.

Any DV camcorder will work. If there are severe artifacts (giant blocks of pixels) then it may be dirty heads. If they try another cam and it's the same then I would say it was something with your cam.

It turns out, its in Avid only

When exported (with different codecs) the problem is gone...

We very relieved the material it self is not damaged!
However, are the problems known with the combination Avid and DVX100b?
