So we have footage from Sony with their 4k recorder options...let's see some footage from CD!!:Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

Im with you Dan! Id like to see some samples. Dan Keaton said they sent the camera out with a cinematographer to put together some samples. So it shouldnt be long hopefully.

Dan, Will the 7Q be able to pull a 12bit, 444 signal off the fs700 if we didn't want to go in the raw direction?

Dear Dan,

We will be working on your request, but we do not want to officially promise this until our engineers prove that this will work well.

Dear Friends,

We shot some footage this weekend, but we want to shoot some more before we post it.

I am very sorry for the delay.

Respectfully,

It's a bit worrying that so much time is being spent to show us something "worth" showing, when I would just be happy with anything really... any piece of footage from CD would be much appreciated.

My best friend and I are going to the stripper this weekend. It would have been nice to take that CD for a test drive. Joking

That was some pleasant news. I hope it's true, but it is direct from CD, so quite likely.

Shame the quotes weren't in HK dollars though :)

cheers

Yowza, I guess if it's $995 instead of $1495, that softens the blow of $600 SSDs.

So on the 7Q we're looking at:
$2295 - Device
$595 x2 - 240GB SSDs
$995 - FS700 upgrade

$4480 total for 4K RAW, 2K 240FPS (no more buffer!) without any "rental" costs. Big investment but it's also an OLED monitor and makes the FS700 quite the powerhouse.

:) .. I just call them a minute ago.. and ask the girl who pick up the phone... she told me: "Yes! We drop the price!" :2vrolijk_08:

Great move on their part and yours, thanks for the info. Now I feel compelled to up size to a bigger storage capacity. They're a great company, glad to do business with them. Can't wait.

Best,
Anthony

Nada. At this point I'd settle for anything I can download and play with. No need to have a showreel before releasing footage.

I talked to a CD engineer this morning and he is promising the footage "soon" - they're just continuing to refine the software a bit before releasing sample footage.
