Hi!

Here's 20" of fruits and veggies. Shot at 24P, will post the scene scettings shortly. This is intended to air on NTSC TV so I just deinterlaced when enconding to MP4, you may noticed the stutter of the 2:3 "deinterlaced" pull down.

Regards,
Salvador

VERY nice. Well lit, and the pans were smooth as butter (may I ask what tripod). Even the telephoto shot was smooth.

Deinterlacing turns 2:3 pulldown into 2:2:4, but even so it was pretty smooth. I loved the lighting, and the lack of noise is surprising in a dvx but very nice.

Thanks! We actually used an EZFX Jib mounted on a Bogen 3191 tripod. Our lighting kits we being used in another shoot, so I ended up using the modeling lights for a couple of monolights. Bounced one on the white ceiling and shined one through a translucent umbrella (positioned a bit to the side/back, from above). Also used a Silver LiteDisc on a couple of shots.
Did some scene setting tweaking to get the look I was after, and crushed the blacks a bit to reduce noise problem.

Settings:
Detail Coring: +3
Chroma Level: +1
Color Temp: -1
Master Ped: -5
Gamma: Cine-Like_V
Martix: Enriched
V Detail Freq: Mid
Progressive: 24P
Shutter: 1/48

Aperture: Around f2

Zebra at 90IRE, specular highlights were either at or below 90IRE.

I figure I underexposed about 1/3 to 1/2 stop.

Everything else was either 0 or default.

This is actually the first time in a year or so, of getting away with little or no noise in the images.

Re: Food shots with the DVX100A

seemed very jerky to me, probably because of the +3 detailsetting. how does it look on TV?

Re: Food shots with the DVX100A

Looks good on TV. Client loved it. Jerkiness is probably due to the speed of the camera moves and also because I didn't remove pulldown before compressing it for the web, simply deinterlaced.
