Hey all

long time no talk.

so here is my latest music video.

it has been getting very good buzz and people can't beleive I shot this video on DVX

check it out at my cinematographers website:

http://homepage.mac.com/rizzinator/iMovieTheater25.html

I would like to know what you all think about it.

I feel the DVX is the best digital camera out there. I haven't shot HVX yet...heard it has some issues in low light situations.

I shot all the timelapse stuff on a Canon D20, and the band performance on my DVX

Awesome video and decent song too. Can you talk about your lighting on the band?

EDIT: If anyone is wondering what happened to the original thread, I accidentally deleted it while trying to merge his duplicate thread. I'm a bad bad mod. :costumed-smiley-047

Yeah I was wondering happen to such an outstanding video.

Well anyway Ronster, for the intro scene, where the sun move behind the skyline and the scene where evening moves into night, how may stills did it take for those two clips?

Great video. The backlit stuff reminds me of that Linkin Park video directed by Mark Romanek. The DVX footage and the timelapse stuff mesh very well.

Awesome footage man. How many frames per minute were you shooting the stills at for the time lapse?

Also, BTW is this Ron Najor? If it is, this is keegan, the kid in the macbeth sport of life commercial you, rizzi and Mark did. How's it going man?

Anyways, video looks great. Hope all is well and good job.

the band was light with 3 nine lights behind a 6 mil

we didn't have enough power for all 18 1k lights so we only put 6 lights on in each one....so a total of 18k

we also had an hmi off to the side lighting the lead singer in the wide and each time we went in for close ups of bands we tweaked it....that was it really for band

the timelapse on the sunrise sunset shots was 1 frame every 10 seconds (I should double check with Rizzi my DP

other timelapses were 1 frame every 1 second for the most part.

the overall color matching between dvx footage and timelapse stuff was achieved in final cut pro 3 point color correct. the dvx footage I didn't do too much but the timelapse footage was super clean so I made it yellow/gold

Keegan....yes this is Ron Najor.....and Rizzi the guy that shot the commercial with you was my DP....thanks for the compliments.....how is Chapman treating you?

I still want to cast you in a vid...are you game?

Ron

Yeh man, I am down. School is super hectic, but I can always use some cash if you want to throw my way ;)

But yeh, Chapman is awesome, just got done with a 3 day shoot for a dark comedy short i am directing. Shot it all on S16 and sinc sound. Going in for telecine on friday and am keeping my fingers crossed.

VIRUM - Yep. The school in orange. I HIGHLY recommend it. very cool immersive film program. Hit me up when you get over here, I can hook you up with crew and the GOOD people to work with etc... why the year at Community college? were you accepted under those circumstances? Oxnard? Im in malibu (when not at school at least). Not far away.

cheers

Ron

HAHA i was kinda joking on the throwing money at me thing...trust me, I know how it goes with not having dough for a project.

Yeh CCI is dope. The guy I go to all the times name is Terri. Super cool and mad talent.

Yeh, I would be way more down to be behind the camera with you than in front of it, so let me know, always able to lend a hand. Also, I got the mad hookup on equipment sometimes and student discounts thru school etc...

Hit me up. I think you still have my email. but its keegangibbs@mac.com
