Im looking for these two items for my Canon 5DII and futur camera i will upgrade later (Red/Sony or Canon) then im still unsure if Zacuto's Z-focus/ Z FinderEVF are actually the best deals to do..?

In term of features, price and upgrade. Not only firmware but camera portability so it will not useless in 10 months...

Other products i have seen with good review are:

iDC SYSTEM ZERO (Follow focus) and cineroid EVF

What do you think? What have you tried yourself and like?
Im using old Leica/Zeiss great SLR lens, i off course need to be sure the Followfocus to work perfectly with then considering the high price of this item...

Thanks!

I have the iDC run and gun system and i love it but there are some drawbacks

I use it with a number of lenses but i have 2 leicas that are my favorites
firstly if you are in a humid area it will slip. This is an easy fix though, just get one of those rubber bracelets (the yellow live strong ones are a good example) and put it around your lens with the smooth side facing out and your good to go.
The system i have doesnt allow you to freely slide the wheel towards or away from the camera body, it instead has fixed spots to put it. This is a problem for some of my longest and shortest lenses. The system one solves this problem by making it slide-able

The last problem i have with mine is the way it mounts the loupe. It holds on my hoodman wonderfully but it takes a couple of minutes and a tool to remove the loupe while leaving the follow focus. Again this problem has been solved by the system zero with a simple way to remove the loupe

Redrock is coming with an electronic viewfinder HDMI for $ 375

I had a Hoodman and it was a waste of money. I bought a Zacuta, and the difference is night and day. It is a fabulous addition to a HDSLR. Almost makes it as good as a camcorder (G).

i have only ever used a hoodman and i hear everybody on this forum saying how a loup is the most important piece of kit and maybe its because mine isnt that great but to me its not that useful of a tool. I dont to a whole lot of outdoor shooting so its always just kind of annoying. Maybe that will be something I should invest in, a better loup

Hey Felipe,

Redrock has delayed their EVF in efforts to release their focusing accessories this June. While it may be available in a few months no one is saying anything about a release date of the EVF, even speculations of it.
