I'm looking to get my first real FF. I have the $50 Follow Focus Pro which works with my Canon still lens, but the 'throw' on the Sony 28-135 f4 (kit lens fs7) is just a little to long and the follow focus handle bumps into the lens or the rails. I did find the little teeth on the focus ring worked just fine with the gear adapter on the FF -- just couldn't move the ring far enough.
I had no luck finding discussions of FF solution for the FS7 kit lens and would really like to make a good choice. They're pricey, but not relative to the cost of this camera.
Im looking at the hand-held version of the red rock remote FF because it has the little finger wheel control on the grip. Again, I have no exposure to anyone using pro video gear beyond what I find on the web, so any help is appreciated. I'm using the kit lens specifically to *reduce* the need to pull focus, but of course AF does not work in s&q mode or in many other situations (including the main subject being NOT centered in the frame...)
thanks, Kathy (seriouspony.com)
