Hey, is anyone still using the Fogal stocking and plastic ring at the end of there lens?
i kind of like the blown-out look of the hi lights.

well.....my last camera was a Sony DSR570 and i put the end of my lens and it never came off.
Now i have a HPX500 w/ film look scene files (V & D) .......
i'm trying to get the best film look possible, do i use it or not??

any one using it....pros..cons?

The con is that you have so much more flexibility in post these days. I never use optical filters besides NDs, ND grads or polas anymore, it is too miuch fun to make my own filters in Photoshop or use plug-ins.

Once you shoot with that gauzy, blown highlights look, you are stuck with it forever. I looked at some shows I shot years ago the other day with the BVWD600 and a stocking behind the lens. It looks frankly dated to my eye. My vote is for shooting a flat image and learning how to use Color, a broadcast monitor and some plug-ins, it is MUCH more flexible and forgiving.
