HDSLR: Focusing: Gh6 vs G9II/Gh7

I find that using the distance focus control, proper F stop, and my primary lenses (PL: 8-18,12-60, 100-400) that unless I am imaging really fast stuff (like birds, or sports) that I can rely on it for focus. Yes, the G9II for sports/wildlife (fast movers) seems a bit better, but just a bit better. For me selling the Gh6 and getting a Gh7 doesn't seem to be a big benefit. If I didn't have the G9II I might feel differently. Are you selling your Gh6 to get a Gh7. I've never seen the banding because I don't shoot backlighted, extremely high contrast images that I think I can fix it in post:). I am sure the Gh7 is an amazing video camera, but so is the Gh6.

No I am not changing my GH6 or my GH5S as everything I do is manual focus. The one thing I would like though is 32bit float from the new XLR2. I use a Zoom F3 now for that but the XLR2 would be more convenient. It is now accepted by the GH6 and I wonder if a firmware update will bring that to the GH6 as the electronics are in the XLR2 not the camera. They both will accept the ARRI LogC so the real difference is new sensor with auto focus. Something I do not use.

Ron,
I would trade the GH6 for the GH7 just to get better AF. I recently made a documentary all in AF and in some clips I noticed a lot of out of focus, even if almost imperceptible. It's a real problem for me. I haven't managed to solve this problem yet. But I don't want to spend more money to buy a camera similar to the GH6. The GH7 has more features besides the AF that I wouldn't use.

Adriano, I do understand your problem. IF you did not film in such hot environments the GH911 would work for you as it is like the GH7 but without fan cooling and the advantage of CFexpress cards for fast or long recording. However the GH911 has the same SD cards so that is an advantage. It is smaller a lighter too. Overheating would be the downside if you record for long periods in hot weather.
