Focus!

Hey,

If I zoom in, lock focus and zoom out, will everything be in focus if object is far away or near to cam?
Is this the best/only way to keep everything in focus if there isnt time to adjust focus and want to shoot 25p?

Btw. How much there is quality loss when switched 25->50i ?

If you zoom in, get focus, and zoom out... the original object you focused on will be in focus if it doesn't move closer or farther away from you. That being said, with plenty of light and shooting a wide shot (you're zoomed out) you are naturally going to be able to keep a wider range of distances in focus.

As far as 25p and 50i, 25p will give you a filmic look and 50i will give you a traditional video look. I'm a progressive guy, so I'd definitely shoot 25p... but that's just me.
