focus

ok .. I bought a DVX100 and I got it today ...it has 0 hours on it, a hell of a find
here is the question I zoom all the way in and it won't focus what am I doing wrong or what do I need to do...

Is it set to manual or auto focus?

I have tryed it in both... nothen .... zoomed out It will focus but in tight no go.

What happens when you turn the focus ring? Nothing at all? Do the numbers move?

numbers move but focus stays the same

when I put it on auto it goes to macro 00

You might have to send it back or get it serviced.

..if you are zoomed all the way in at z99 the camera cannot go into macro under normal working conditions. so if your camera is dong so its probably broken. but also you cannot focus on anything closer than roughly 3 feet when your zoomed all the way in at z99 so make sure your trying to focus on something within the cameras lensing limitations. .. anyway sounds like its broke.

well the guy I bought it from had it for like a year, and it just sat there.
he turned it on a few time ...a year ago but that is it, maybe it had to reajust to being on but it is cool he never filed out the warrenty so I got that, and the cam had 0 hours on it so it can't be in that bad of shape

Hello, doing some research and this might be an old post... your zoom issue.. was it broken or did you just have it in 24p mode? Have you had issues with it since ?
