The metal ribbon that runs from inside the camera connecting to the focus ring snapped off. I called a local shop and they said it would cost $1200 to buy the entire focus apparatus - and that panasonic does not sell the ribbon separately.
This doesnt make sense to me. It's just the ribbon that busted. Can i solder the ribbon back onto the focus ring? If not, do you know which parts I should buy and if i can fix this myself.
