Focus Ring Lube

I just bought another DVX100A for $500! It's in pretty used condition with 668 hours on the heads but everything is working.

One thing that is kinda bothering me is the focus ring is pretty rough. The only way I can describe it is that it feels sort of dry and slightly rough when I turn it.
I was wondering if anybody knows what I could use to possibly lube it (or clean it?)
Also, the body is a little dirty in the cracks; what would you guys use to clean that?

My DVX is brand new, 3 weeks not even...adn i get that crunchy gross sound when i turn it, luckily the mic on my dvx doesnt picik it up

Sorry, no crunchy thing going on here, or anything remotely similar. You three must share a common denominator, as did you cameras all make it to the beach? I read from time to time of beach cameras that develop a crunch in the focus ring?

My dvx100b has been to the beach and no issues with the focus ring (other issues due to the beach and fog, it's never going to the beach again for sure!) I just bought this 100a so I have no idea where its been. Also, it doesn't sound like sand, its just sort of dry sounding. Maybe a fine sand or dust?
Any ideas on how to clean it or lube it?
