Focus ring heard with in camera mic?

Hi there,

when I set the focus to manual (Servo switched to manual) on the DVX100AE,
I can hear the sound come through the headphones when I change the focus ring.

Is this normal ?

This camera has done about 390 hours.

It's a rental.
