Does the HVX have a Macro setting?

How close to the lens can you get in focus?


What´s the best way to film insects?

Extreme close ups? What´s maximum?


Is there a budget solution?
 
Technically yes, but one person's macro is not another's.

If quality is not paramount, you can get cheap +10 diopter kits like would be used on a still camera, eBay could find you some under $50. Otherwise you could talk to a rental house about renting a real lens.

With +10 I can show you lice's eggs clearly!
 
How close can I get to the HVX Leica lens in focus?



How do I put the +10 diopter still lens on the camera? I guess with a Letus Extreme or P+S Adapter?

Are there macro lenses to screw directly to the camera, like a wide angle lens?
 
Depends on how wide-angle you are. You can easily focus to the surface of the lens if you're in full wide-angle. For telephoto, I don't recall (don't have my HVX here to test) but I think it's about 1.6 feet or so.
