GH4 focus distance display?

I can't find a way to display focus distance when using panasonic lenses, is this really not possible? All I see is the nearly useless line with the mountain on one side and the flower on the other.

Though possible on the AF100 it's not possible on the GH cameras.

Every so often Panasonic consults groups of DPs & focus distance readout in feet or meters was one of our top requests.

I've been moaning at Panasonic (I've managed to speak to their reps every so often) and you guys have been moaning at them too... and they STILL haven't put it in since the G1 debuted. It's useful for both stills and videos, so why haven't they done it is really beyond me. Grrr!
