:D Simultaneously press and hold the AudioDub button and the Rewind button, then press Menu. It'll bring up the regular menu and you'll see there are two new menus, #8 and #9.



When in CAMERA mode:

Menu 8: DIAGNOSTIC MENU
BER DISPLAY > OFF VIDEO AUDIO TOTAL
SAMPLE SPEED > SLOW FAST
VERSION V: 1.03 C:1.12
A.OFF (then five lines of numbers, mostly zeroes)
(note: "version" and "a.off" are not menu-selectable, they're just printouts).

Menu 9: ADJUST MENU
ATF GAIN ---- (four blue dashes, non-selectable)
LINEARITY ---- (four blue dashes, non-selectable)
Y LEVEL > 91
C LEVEL > 65
DEFECT COMP > 0 1 2 3
DEBUG INF > OFF ON
EEPROM VERSION 1.02
(note: EEprom version is not menu-selectable, it's just a printout.

WHEN IN VCR MODE:

Menu 6: DIAGNOSTIC MENU
(same as camera mode menu 8)

Menu 7: ADJUST MENU
ATF GAIN > YES
LINEARITY > YES
(the rest is the same as when in camera mode)

Thanks for posting the details here in the Articles section. We had several discussions in several threads about this, but it is nice to have it summarized in one spot.

As mentioned elsewhere, but repeated for new readers:

***** DO NOT MODIFY ANYTHING IN THE ADJUSTMENTS MENUE. *****

Those settings require knowledge and equipment only available (that we know of) at the factory. The Diagnostics menue can provide some intersting things. We have some visiting Ninja that have provided some great insight.

(What is the collective for Ninja? Maybe a thrashing of Ninja.... a garrotte of Ninja.... a strangle of Ninja....)

Yes very good thanks for the summary. Its important to have a full explanation about this so people dont get too curious and really screw something up.

while we're at focus chart.. did anyone made or saw a focus chart to use with the anamorphic?
i don't own one, but i rent it sometimes...
