Focal point distance indicator on dvx100a?

I recently picked up a DVX100a. Something I noticed is it doesn't show how far away the lens is focusing on the HUD. We've got an HVX at work and it will say how many meters away you are focusing at. It's really useful because sometimes its hard to see how well something is focused in the LCD or viewfinder.

Is there something in the menu I keep missing to turn this on, or is it not a feature the camera has? Thanks!

The answer is no. Page 89 thru 91 of Berry's bible....I mean book, will cover everything about how the zoom and focus %'s are established and the relationship between the two.

The reason offered in the book for using focus % vs. distance is that these values change when additional lenses are added to the camera. The book establishes charts that provide the distances for stock and anamorphic lenses (p137).

No DVX owner should not have this book. Why are you still reading this? Go buy it already.

Thanks! I actually already have the book, but I'm not all the way thru it. I got it a few days ago. I will go read those pages. Thanks a lot.
