Flying with the HMC-150

I know, this is terribly silly...

I'm going to be getting on a plane with my new HMC-150 tomorrow.

Is there any reason I should be concerned? The big batteries? Putting the camera through the security scan?

Like I said... I know this is silly, but one can't be too careful!

The camera will be a carry on (in my MC-61 bag).

There can be issues with the batteries... and I am not sure what the big deal is.. but some have supposedly caused fires, etc.. I have flown a lot since I heard about this and haven't been stopped or whatnot, and I'd play ignorant and cry if I had to in order to keep them with me.

Hey, if you marry the girl I know a videogr...

My batterys were tested to have traces of explosives. I would put them in a zip lock and offer them to security. I had to go through a long process to get through.

I haven't had any problems with batteries from my XHA1. I have to wonder about the Tekkeon batteries though, whether that might be a problem.

i fly about once a month with my cam. i take the camera, batteries(3), and fisheye lens out of the bag and put them in their own container. when i would only take the camera out, leaving the lens and batteries in the bag TSA would want to search it. now since i've started removing those items, they never want to search it.

Great advice everyone! I went through security just fine. They said next time I should take my camera out because the scanner can't "go through it".

The airport did manage to not get me my luggage.... Luckily this was my flight home so all is well (I can wait until tomorrow... i have a spare tooth bruth ;))
