If you're planning to take your DVX on any overseas flights you better ship it insured or carry it by itself because of the security stuff going on. Im in the Airport in Sweden right now and I've had to carry my dvx bare and ill have to fly with it bare too. No cases alowed. This flight is gunna suck.

i did that when i went to prague. great trip. Got some nice shots of the day and night skies from up above.

I have that problem too. I'm going to he states from Paris with my dvx100 but... I may need to ship it.

It's crazy here now...

What about flying from one state to another? I'm planning on traveling to California on friday and I would really hate to not be able to take it with me.

From what I hear, it'll be about as much of a pain in the ass.

Why no cases allowed?? we're still allowed one carry on bag, and one "personal item, which can consist of a purse, briefcase, laptop..." right?

I'm headed to amsterdam next month, and am planning on bringing the cam.

Wow that sucks, I'm flying to Chile at the end of the month and am bringing the DVX and a helmet cam rig... I was going to carry the DVX in my cabin bag and just stow the helm cam in my luggage.

Wow- crazy world we live in right now. I'm glad I am not traveling soon, especially since I just had a baby and they would probably treat her as my "carry on", rather than my camera.

I would say ship everything that you have with plenty of insurance. Hike up your rates if you are working on a video project so that it compensates for the extra money you have to spend in traveling.

Hey- at least the overhead bins won't be clogged with travel suitcases anymore! :)
